With profound sorrow, the combined Wolff and PMIC families share with you the passing of Dr. Ernest G. Wolff (1934 – 2018), company founder and visionary. From its humble beginnings in 1991, Precision Measurement and Instruments Corporation has been guided for over a quarter of a century by Dr. Wolff’s vision of scientific excellence in service of materials testing for the aerospace and consumer products industries. The more complicated the test sample, the more complex the measurement required, the more passionate Dr. Wolff would be guiding PMIC engineers, physicists, and technicians in finding solutions. A great educator, Dr. Wolff was generous in sharing creative testing techniques and in encouraging colleagues to do the same. His impact on scientific research extended across continents. His voice at conferences and in publications will be deeply missed.

Dr. Wolff’s goal and achievement was to build PMIC into a self-sustaining company dedicated to excellent test and measurement services while continually focusing on customer needs. It is our privilege and honor to serve his vision and extend his legacy.
